Jennifer’s Body (Soundtrack)

jennifers body

The soundtrack for Jennifer’s Body was released last week, and it has a pretty good line-up. Little Boots, Florence and the Machine, Hayley Williams (Paramore), Silversun Pickups, and the newly duo known as Panic! at the Disco are just some of the artists featured on the album. It’s a perfect Indie/Pop Rock combination for a movie described as a horror/comedy, but you should already know Diablo Cody’s movie soundtracks are amazing. Have you heard the Juno Soundtrack? Perfect. Check out Panic! at the Disco’s “New Perspective” and Florence and the Machine’s “Kiss With A Fist” below, which are both featured on the soundtrack. Check here to buy the album and get the track-listing.

Here’s a new track from Portland rapper Jay Child, and producer Dekk. It’s definitely got a nice beat, and is featured on their album “A Child is Born,” which is going to be released next week. Oh, and did I mention it’s going to be free! So look out for it.

amanda blank

I’ve been listening to this girl for a while now, and I’m liking her sound. It’s different than what your used to hearing. I mean, how many people out there are combining rapping, hip hop, indie pop, and electro together? And for that person to also be a female in the game is just the icing on the cake. Some of her lyrics are definitely raunchy but that’s what gives this Philadelphia native such spunk. She’s made a name for herself in the underground for quite some time now, and was featured on tracks by Spank Rock as well as M.I.A. A little over two weeks ago she released her debut album I Love You, and though it may not be critically acclaimed, Ms. Blank still has some solid tracks. The girls got potential. Check out her track “Something Bigger, Something Better” below.
